Saab has appointed an outside administrator to oversee its business in North America and the potential wind-down or sale of the company if its parent operations can’t emerge from bankruptcy. The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 was under way on Monday at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the Siri personal assistant will soon be in the car. According to Cook, within the next 12 months, drivers will be able to hit a button on the steering wheel and connect with that disembodied voice from the commercials. BMW, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Audi, Toyota, Chrysler and Honda have all signed on for the experience.

It took Mazda an awfully long time to introduce the 2011 Mazda2 Facelift. In fact the very same Mazda2 nose was already running off the production lines in Thailand in October 2009, so it seems most peculiar that the facelifted cars are only just starting to arrive in UK showrooms. Still, it’s not the end of the world and the 2011 Mazda2 does offer a decent-looking car with a practical choice of engines and trim.
